Item Made: Kotetsu Kaburagi's Bracelet


I’m rather proud of myself… even if this was really easy to make XD

Though to be honest, I suppose I’m more proud in the sense that I managed to make the bracelet quite accurate to the original, you have no idea how long I spent looking for the beads for Kotetsu’s bracelet in my local bead shop xD

I’d literally all but given up hope after endless searching, more searching and searching again (just in case I’d managed miss something, you have no idea how often I manage to overlook something, even if I’m looking RIGHT at it or it’s staring me right in the face =.=;;; ), when, just as I’d decided to go with some wooden beads that were ‘sort of’ the right colour, I found these little gems.

I was so happy to have found them that I actually did the whole Kotetsu victory fist pump thing with both arms as I softly, but no less victoriously, and smugly I might add, murmured these words ‘YES!! Hell yeah baby, I am good!’ …DAT KOTETSU MOMENT XD

Seriously, I am so happy to have found these, and they were in the last place I thought to look in the store, just goes to show that you can’t leave an inch of that store, or any store for that matter, uncombed, cause if you do, you may end up missing out on some real gems, or exactly what you're looking for. All I remember thinking was ‘Now all I need is something stretchy to thread these beads together with’, so I headed over to where the stretchy elastic thread had been the last time, but low and behold, they’d moved things around, no elastic in sight. So I was about to head off to look for it elsewhere, when something distinctly purple caught my eye, dark purple that is… and the rest is history as they say xD Wow, what a long and boring story for such a small and simple item OTL

Even though I didn’t technically ‘make’ the bracelet (I didn’t make the beads out of clay like a lot of others have done) I’m still very proud of myself, it was easy to make, but still for some odd reason, I feel oddly accomplished and smug xD No idea why, I just do lol

I was going to make the beads out of clay, but since my local bead shop is just so darned awesome and has such pretty beads, I decided that I’d go and search there first, hoping that I’d find the perfect beads, and I did. They’re not the exact colour, but neither is Kotetsu’s bracelet, as you can tell from the screenshots it tends to change colour and size in the anime, though only ever so slightly. These beads I think are a great ‘middle ground’, they have the same lustre that Kotetsu’s do and yet are also ‘matt’ like his, they’re almost the exact same colour, they have a slight sheen to them, and they’re the perfect size.

I seriously lucked out with these beads, now if only I could luck out with somehow managing to figure out how to make Kotetsu’s communicator bracelet, flashing ‘CALL’ signal and all... probably impossible, but I can dream can't I? XD


Anyway’s, I hope ya’ll like my simple, but still IMHO, pretty creation!
